An RN or LPN in your home, one to one

A licensed nurse in your house, caring for your child and nobody else on that shift. Not a facility, not a rotation of faces, not one nurse split across four rooms. Hours come from the plan of treatment your child’s physician signs, and Georgia Medicaid authorizes against it.

This is the work most agencies quietly decline. Airway, respiratory and central-line care needs a nurse who has managed it in a home, at night, without a code team down the hall. We staff to your child’s real needs, and we say so honestly when something is outside what we can cover in your county.

Medication management

Administration, timing, monitoring, physician-ordered changes

Complex regimens are where errors happen at home, and the risk peaks at handover: the day a dose changes, the week after a hospital stay, the month a new specialist joins. Our nurses administer and monitor to the orders on file. They do not change a regimen. When something needs to change, that goes back to the physician and we help move the documentation.

Most of this work is watching. Saturations, work of breathing, color, intake and output, weight, and the specific numbers your specialists asked to be tracked. The value is not the reading. It is a nurse who knows your child’s ordinary Tuesday well enough to recognize the Tuesday that is wrong, and to escalate before it becomes an admission.

Personal care

Bathing, dressing, feeding, transfers, positioning. GAPP covers these as personal care support hours, which are separate from skilled nursing hours, and your child’s approved plan of care decides the mix.

Or you can be paid for itA parent can be hired as a W-2 employee and paid weekly for approved personal care hours. Approval depends on age, care needs and the plan of care, and is less common for very young children. Foster parents are not eligible.

So nothing falls between appointments

Families end up as the messenger between a pulmonologist, a neurologist, a GI clinic, a DME supplier and a school. Things get lost in that gap, usually the things that matter. We keep the paperwork moving and report changes to the physician rather than waiting for the next visit.

Renewals trackedAuthorizations run for a set period. We watch the dates so hours do not lapse.

Nothing. GAPP is a Georgia Medicaid program and there is no out-of-pocket cost to the family for authorized services.

Georgia Medicaid sets that, against the plan of treatment your child’s physician signs. GAPP can authorize up to 24 hours a day of skilled nursing where the documented need supports it. No agency decides this, and be careful with anyone who implies they can.
