Where children come home from in Henry County

Henry has a strong county hospital, and it sits far enough south that the rest of the metro’s pediatric care is a real drive. If your child is still admitted, call before discharge.

Piedmont Henry in Stockbridge is the county’s main hospital, a 259-bed campus with both a Level III NICU and a Level III trauma center. A good deal of higher-risk newborn care happens without leaving Henry.

Pediatric subspecialty and surgical care still means Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, usually Hughes Spalding or Arthur M. Blank. From McDonough or Hampton that is a long enough trip that having nursing arranged before you come home changes the first month considerably.

Henry County is served by District 4, based in LaGrange. Henry is one of only two counties we serve that sit outside the metro Atlanta health districts, alongside Bibb. It sits in district 4 with Butts, Carroll, Coweta, Fayette, Heard, Lamar, Meriwether, Pike, Spalding, Troup and Upson, administered from LaGrange.
